TRAVEL TO KIRUNA BY TRAIN

 

Both SJ and Norrtåg has trains passing by Kiruna. In the winter it's important to always check if your train is cancelled or delayed before you take the transfer bus; or you'll be stuck out by the train station (~2 km away from city core) for hours and hours (unless you walk or take a taxi back). The transfer bus is a free of charge bus that takes you to and from the train station from and to the bus station at the city core. Schedule can be found here. If you arrive in Kiruna with a very late train, or a bus replacing a train, you may have to call for the transfer bus at number 070-669 13 11. This information is also posted all over train station.

 

At the bus stop the transfer bus goes from the forth bus shelter, furthest away from the bus station. The transfer bus schedule is posted in that bus shelter as well.

 

Student discount

As a member of the Student Union of Technology you get the SJ student discount, which is about 30 %. This only applies if your LTU-card has the SJ-logo.
